A Year of Horses, Growth and Gratitude at Eastside

A heartfelt thank you to our riders, families, staff, volunteers, students and horses as we celebrate a wonderful year and send festive wishes to our Eastside family.

Dear our Eastside Family,

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on all the special moments shared at Eastside. From first lessons to competition experiences, our learning has progressed, and our love for horses has grown.

HorseShare

It has been a joy to watch the bond between horses and riders strengthen throughout the year. Our HorseShare riders enjoy the privilege of bonding with one horse and working with that horse to improve their riding. Overcoming challenges and growing together over time helps form a true partnership between horse and rider.

Eastside Staff

A huge thank you to each member of our wonderful team — you make Eastside special with your patience and kindness. We thank you for all the lessons, lunges, and horse care that go into every day. Horses are a non-stop commitment requiring constant care and training, and your dedication is seen in every horse and rider — thank you!

Volunteers and Helpers

You make our load lighter and our days brighter — thank you for everything you do at Eastside. Our pony leads, park rides, and birthday parties would not be possible without you!

University Placements

We are proud to partner with The University of Sydney and other universities to provide work placements for Veterinary and Equine Science students. The students learn how horses are managed and cared for in a professional environment, gaining skills that will form the foundation of their future training.

Horses

From Odin to Toohie, each horse is unique and an important part of the team. It is hard to describe how special these horses are — they mean so much to so many, sharing our lives and enriching us daily. I have often come into the stables and found someone just standing close with their favourite horse — sharing emotions and finding strength or calm.

Now it is time for all our beautiful horses to leave the city for a holiday in lush green paddocks. My husband, Terence, and I transported the horses and released them into their holiday paddocks. Seeing them joyfully start their holiday was a special birthday present for me. With our sincere thanks to Jess K. and Ian B. for looking after our horses over the holidays.

Thank you to all our riders, families, and supporters for a wonderful year. We wish you a peaceful and happy festive season and look forward to seeing you in 2026.

Best wishes,
Kirsten & the Eastside Team
