Local OOSH Vacation Care Enjoy Excursion at Eastside Riding Academy

On Wednesday 15 January, children from a local Out of School Hours (OOSH) vacation care program had a unique and exciting experience at Eastside Riding Academy, a hidden gem in the heart of Sydney. The stables, known for their connection to the city’s equestrian community, opened their doors for a private excursion tailored for the young visitors.

During the day, the children participated in a range of hands-on activities designed to foster an appreciation for horses and their care. They were introduced to the responsibilities of looking after horses, including basic yard work, horse exercise and grooming. The children were shown how to properly care for the animals, learning about horse health and the various tasks that go into ensuring the well being of our equine friends.

In addition to caring for the horses, the group gained valuable insights into the daily routine of a stable yard. They got to experience feeding, watering and brushing, plus the opportunity of experiencing a connection with these beautiful animals.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for each child to enjoy a mini horse ride. With expert guidance from the staff, the children experienced the thrill of horse riding in the heart of the city. For many, it was their first time riding, and they adored the chance to connect with the horses and explore the stables grounds.

The excursion proved to be an educational and fun-filled experience, providing children with a deeper understanding of equestrian life while fostering a love for animals and outdoor activities.

Eastside Riding Academy, known for offering custom experiences for schools, vacation care programs, and other groups, is open to arranging similar experiences.
